Thomas J. LoScalzo, P.E. is President of Environmental Mechanical Contractors, Inc.  Tom joined Environmental Mechanical in 1983 as a mechanical engineer and was named President in 1992. He began his career with a large mechanical electrical plumbing firm as a consultant. As President, Tom lends his supervision and direction of design, estimating and construction management. He is proud of the fact that clients are able to hire Environmental Mechanical as a single source design-build mechanical contractor.  Tom is a past president of Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association SMACNA-Kansas City Chapter and remains active. He's also served on the national board of SMACNA in Washington, D.C. Other associations in which he remains active is the Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City. He's served as past president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE-KC Chapter), past president of MO-KAN Environmental Balancing Bureau (EBB), and past president of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB). Tom holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed engineer in Kansas and Missouri, and passed the Block & Associates Master Mechanical exam.


David DeBiasse serves Environmental Mechanical as Vice President. David holds a key position in that he is responsible for project management and construction coordinationof projects. He is involved in on-site supervision and deals directly with contractors as well as clients. He is also involved in the design-build and estimating. He was named Vice President in June 2000. David brings substantial field experience from working for a family owned commercial/residential plumbing and heating business. In addition, he gained experience in production mechanical systems as plant/project engineer for a plastics plant for three years. He spent the following eight years managing mechanical installations for a firm that served higher education, commercial, industrial, health care and pharmaceutical clients. He is a member of ASHRAE.  David holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas.

 


Paul Bloemer is Vice President of Finance and Administration at Environmental Mechanical.  Paul's career began in Corporate America as an auditor at Arthur Young & Co., now Ernst & Young. After two years, Whitman Corp., parent company of Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Inc., hired Paul as internal auditor. He was soon promoted to Division Controller where he led and managed all local financial operations for the $60 million division. In his 20 + years of financial management experience,  Paul Bloemer has held positions as group accounting manager for Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Inc., and senior asset operations specialist for Resolution Trust Corp. He has long been a member of AICPA.  Paul has a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois and a M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Kansas.

 

 

Bill Heck in 1982 through 1999, owned the Taber Chalmers Company.  When he sold the company, Bill joined Environmental Mechanical after 2 ½ years of retirement.  Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 – 1965.  Bill completed an apprenticeship with Pipe Fitters Local 533 in 1972 while attending the University of Kansas and has over 30 years of experience in the HVAC and pipefitting industry.  As owner of Taber Chalmers, Bill became a Master Pipe Fitter and HVAC Supervisor in 1985. He is licensed in Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS. Bill is currently a member of the MCA Board of Directors, where he serves as President Elect and President for the next four years. He is a member of the APSC Board of Directors as well, where he is a past President.  He chairs MCA's MSCA Task Force, which oversees the National Mechanical Equipment Service and Maintenance Agreement. He is a member of MSCA's National Industry Relations Committee and MCA's Pipe Fitter Labor Negotiations, Education, APSC Labor Management, and MSCA Local Oversight committees.  Bill is chairman of the MCA's Apprenticeships for the Millennium in coordination with the Mechanical Contracting Foundation.  He serves on the Labor/Management Council of Greater Kansas City. Bill holds a B.S. Industrial Engineering and a Minor in Business from University of Kansas.

 

sm_Ken_KarrKen Karr serves Environmental Mechanical as a Construction Account Representative. Ken has over 30 years experience in mechanical construction with Natkin and Company and The Fagan Company. He has applied his engineering and construction management skill on a wide variety of design/build HVAC projects that have ranged from industrial applications to worship spaces, and from educational facilities to high-rise office buildings. At Environmental Mechanical, Ken's focus is on finding innovative, cost-effective solutions for our clients' sheet metal/piping construction needs. He has served the industry through participation in the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), the Mechanical Contractor's Association (MCA), including nine (9) years on the Joint Apprenticeship Committee, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE). Ken holds numerous state and municipal contractor licenses. Ken has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and holds a M.B.A. from Central Missouri State University.

 

Tim Erickson is an Estimator for Environmental Mechanical. Tim grew up in a family construction company with a hammer in one hand and a nail in the other. Tim has a B.S. degree in Construction Science and Management from Kansas State University.

is in the estimating department at Environmental Mechanical. He has assisted and interned at various engineering and architecture firms for the past seven summers in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Mike joined the team at Environmental Mechanical team in 2005. Mike has a B.S. Degree in Architecture from Kansas State University.

 

 

 

 

Bob Gregory serves Environmental Mechanical as Piping Operations Manager. Bob has joined Environmental Mechanical after 27 years with Midwest Mechanical with his most recent position there as Vice President of Operations. Bob completed an apprenticeship with LU 533 Pipe Fitters and has worked -as Foreman, Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimating Manager, and Operation Manager. Bob is active on the Labor Management committee for the Alliance of Professional Specialty Contractors and the Construction Industry Steering Team for the Labor-Management Council of Greater Kansas City, and is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America, Mid-America Chapter.

 

 

sm_Darby_GeneGene Darby serves Environmental Mechanical as Sheet Metal Operations Manager. Gene joined the staff of Environmental Mechanical Contractors in 1989 as an apprentice.  Prior to joining Environmental Mechanical Contractors Gene worked on various construction projects including residential and commercial projects. Since joining Environmental Mechanical Contractors Gene's work experience includes journeyman, job foreman, and detailer for commercial, residential and industrial projects. This experience allows him to coordinate all aspects of sheet metal work from shop drawings through installation. Gene is certified and experienced in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).  He also completed the Air Conditioning Clinic at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and holds the Oklahoma Mechanical Journeyman's License.
