At the heart of the 50-acre shared campus of The University of Kansas Medical Center is KU Med, Kansas' premier academic primary through tertiary care hospital. KU Med is recognized as a leader in patient-centered care and is known for its excellent faculty, nurses and staff who specialize in every aspect of medical care. 

Environmental Mechanical Contractors, Inc. provides many HVAC and energy related services for the Med Center.  

EMC works with facilitation personnel to determine needs, assist in the engineering and budgeting process and then deliver solutions by facilitating the proper resources. 

Work recently completed includes:

• Air conditioning system for department manager's suite
• Upgrade and renovation of laboratory ventilation system in order to meet current code requirements
• Installation of new HVAC infrastructure for future classrooms
• Computer room air conditioning
• AHU renovations and air balancing for operating room suites
• Installation or variable frequency drives for various air-handling units
